COVID-19 POLICY

Harpenden Beauty Hub

Sadly all of us have been affected by the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Until a vaccine is created to protect us, we will in the meantime start to adjust to what we will call our new “normal”.

I have missed being able to offer you the treatments that I know you love, and I am looking forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

My priority is to keep you as safe as possible, and prior to re-opening the Beauty Hub I have implemented a number of changes which I would like to make you aware of. During the time the salon has been shut, I have completed the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Infection Prevention and Control course which is accredited by the Guild of Professional Beauty Therapists Ltd, the UK trade body for our industry. I have since made a number of changes in the way that I operate that you will notice when you next visit.

Booking Appointments

If I feel ill or have symptoms of C0VlD-19, I will self-isolate immediately and not come into the salon. This may mean that I have to cancel your appointment at short notice. I appreciate that this may be inconvenient but it is done entirely for your own safety. If your appointment is cancelled you will be able to re-book again or ask for a refund.

If you or any of the people you live with feel ill or display any symptoms of C0VlD-19 – please advise me as soon as possible and DO NOT COME TO THE SALON FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. I have amended my booking terms and conditions and you will not be charged for any appointments which you miss due to illness.

Visiting Harpenden Beauty Hub

For your safety and to maintain social distancing, I ask that you attend your appointments as close to the appointment time as possible. Please do not turn up early for appointments as this may mean that you come into contact with other clients who are just leaving. If there are already two people in the waiting area, then please use the studio (if it is free), the hallway or you are welcome to sit in our courtyard (weather permitting). I also ask that you come to your appointment alone, with no other family members or children. Once you have finished your appointment, I ask kindly that you do not wait in the waiting area, e.g for nails to dry but you are free to use the courtyard or studio (if it is free).

Please come to your appointment alone, with no family members, children or friends etc.

I have increased the frequency of cleaning in the my room including making sure that common surfaces,  door handles etc. are wiped clean using disinfectant products between each client / every hour, along with increased frequency of cleaning in the clinic.

Unfortunately I will not be able to supply refreshments such as water but I do advise you to bring beverages in your own/takeaway cups to stay hydrated.

There will be no magazines or books to read, you are welcome to bring your own.

I will not be able to provide modesty towels for the time being.(subject to change in accordance with government guidelines) Alternatively I will use disposable couch roll.  For more comfort, I advise you to bring your own towel for treatments which require undressing e.g. facials, waxing etc.

All tools and equipment will be disinfected or sterilised in line with the specific manufacturers’ instructions for your safety.

Couches will have a PVC cover which will be wiped down with disinfectant/barbicide spray after each client. Pillows will have wipeable PVC covers.

Wherever possible I will utilise environmentally, friendly, single use items during a treatment that will be disposed of safely after use in order to protect you from cross infection.

You will have access to hand a sanitizer bay which is located on the wall outside the Clinic at the bottom of the steps. Sanitizer, soap and hot water to wash your hands with inside the clinic and I will also have hand sanitizer available for you to use when you come into my room.

I would advise you to wear a face mask or face covering when you visit the clinic and during your treatment if this is appropriate. If you do not have one, I can provide a disposable surgical face mask at a cost of £1.

Please don’t be surprised or upset if I use personal protective equipment (PPE) during your visit and during your treatment. This may include disposable gloves / face masks /face shields/ aprons where appropriate.

Fabric chairs will be covered with disposable plastic covers, removed and replaced after each client.

I can confirm that the laundering of my uniform is and has always been a priority. I can assure you that all salon laundry is washed at 60 degrees C.

All disposable items are safely removed from the treatment area every day.

My Treatments

I have carried out a risk assessment on all treatments and I am confident that we can continue to provide these safely.

During your treatment

I understand the importance of hand hygiene and we will ensure that I  wash my hands in according with NHS recommendations before the start of your treatment.

I will try to make your treatment as safe, comfortable and enjoyable as possible. If you have any concerns about your treatments please let me know and I will do what I can to satisfy you.

After the treatment

Minimum spend for card payments is £20. A bank transfer or cash for payments under £20.

All of these procedures have been implemented for your safety and mine. I will continue to take advice from the Government and the NHS regarding safe practice and will amend them as necessary.
